There are times in life where we all wish to achieve our fitness goals. In life, gym exercises, healthy food, and even working out, there are lessons to be learned that we usually see more clearly once we’ve accomplished a goal.
Many people are guilty of setting fitness goals only to give up a month later. Often times, this is due to the lack of a proven nutrition and workout regimen.
Achieving your health and fitness goals are often simple, fun, and straightforward when approached correctly.
We are sharing some powerful tips that will help you achieve your health and fitness goals.
1- Make a Plan and Stick to it
Having a plan is the difference between the individual who makes some resolution to work out and quits a few months later, and the one who sticks with it.
Whether the plan is to meet a partner at the gym every day at the same time or it’s to get moving during your lunch break, sticking to your plan will help you reach your fitness goals.
2- Set Achievable Targets
If you want to lose weight, have a goal in mind and break it down into monthly targets. Let’s Suppose if you want to lose three stone, that can feel like a lot.
But if you break it down into manageable chunks, it will feel a lot more achievable target for you.
3- Find an Exercise Partner
It’s so much harder to motivate yourself to exercise if you have to go it alone. If you have a friend you can work out with, you’ll pep each other up when you’re not in the mood.
Of course, you can also use it as an opportunity for good gossip, but don’t forget to work out while you’re at it.
4- Listen to Your Body
We are all unique and what works for one person might not work for an additional. While your friend may have achieved the body of her dreams by hitting the treadmill every day, your body may shape up more quickly doing resistance training.
As you experiment with what you enjoy doing, also pay attention to how it makes your body feel and how it responds.
5- Buy Some Fitness Gear
Treat yourself to some gear that’s breathable, and comfortable. You can buy some decent budget leggings and tops, but you should invest in a good pair of trainers.
Buy ones suited to your exercise of choice (i.e running trainers, or ones with flatter soles for stability when doing weights), and don’t forget to shop for a comfortable sports outfit.
6- Use Rewards Intelligently
The best strategy for motivating yourself to chase your health and fitness goals is by using effective rewards. But be careful not to let these rewards get in the way.
For example, try not to eat Pizza, Burgers as a reward for going to a yoga session. It may motivate you to exercise, but it may be hurting you in the long run.
7- Increase Fluid Intake
When you do exercise more, you need more fluids to replace the minerals lost via sweat. Yes, you should be breaking a sweat during your workouts.
A great combo drink that will be sure to hydrate is half coconut water and half water. The coconut water or other sports drink contains electrolytes and the water hydrates your body.
8- Get a Health Coach
The fastest and most guaranteed way to reach your fitness goals is by hiring a personal trainer or a coach. Coaches have a huge amount of knowledge and can help you get results faster than any other approach.
Not only will they hold you accountable when times get tough, but they also have all the answers to questions that you’re bound to come across during your journey.
9- Get Quality Sleep
Between family time, and working on your goals, sleep can sometimes fall to the wayside. It’s difficult to sleep at least seven to eight hours of sleep to prevent your body and mind from burning out.
If your goal is to reduce weight , sleep should be a top priority. Research has shown that people who get a full night’s sleep lose more fat and feel less hungry throughout the day.
10- Have Fun
There’s no law that says exercise has to be boring. Most trainers and everyday people who have lost weight and kept it off know that exercise should be fun.
Work out by doing what you love. If you love to dance, it is a great way to get your blast of cardio. If you seek a challenging workout that involves interval training and resistance workouts, then an outdoor boot camp is best.
